HICKSON MISSION.
LOCAL PREPARATIONS. In connection with the forthcoming faith-healing mission of Mr J. M Hickson, intercessory services are being held regularly at All Saints' Church, Palmerston North, at which special prayers arc being offered in the name of the patients who are to participate in the mission. At yesterday’s service, Sisters Heni and Beswick addressed a large congregation, explaining to them the effects of the Hickson mission at Hamilton. Many instances of remarkable reported cures were mentioned by the speakers, who also tendered advice to all those who intended to approach the mission.
Last evening was devoted to a course of instruction to the nurses and doctors and helpers as to the nature of their duties during the days of the mission.
SERVICE AT GISBORNE. [Per Press Association.] GISBORNE, Last Night The mission of spiritual healing conducted by Mr J. M. Hickson opened in Gisborne to-day. There are over COO European and about 150 Maori patients’ to, be treated. The service in the morning was of an exceedingly solemn nature, and many professed to having received spiritual uplift, but no miraculous cures have so far been reported. »
