SPAHLINGER SERUM.
MOVEMENT TO RAISE FUNDS,
WANTED, 100 HORSES.
[By Electric Cable— -Copyright.] [Aust. and N.Z. Cable Association.] (Received Wednesday, 10.10 p.m.) LONDON, October 16.
Professor Spahlinger attended a meeting at the Ritz Hotel which Baron Rothschild organised to raise funds for the development, of the cure. Prof. Spahlinger said Sir S. Birkee had given £20,000 already, and £BO,OOO had been spent on experiments. . It would be deplorable if the results of the work done were thrown away. "It takes four years to complete the processes, but with the work already done, if I had one hundred horses, it would bo possible to treat three thousand patients in eighteen months, and to test the serum in every country of the world. I would then publish the formula, enabling serum vaccines to be produced anywhere. I am anxious that no serums hurriedly or ineffectually prepared sh'ould he put on the market.”
