A workman called Kiepert, who,,ap, poared before the Berlin ™ described himself as the victim of women. A couple of dozen, inc Hiding ES widows, in giving evidence against him, declared that they had all been betrothed to him and had given him money and valuables. Kiepert maintained that every woman he met fell in love with him. He declared with a pathetic gesture that if he had to go to prison, he would commit suicide, and the women who had brought him to the sad position in which he found himself would follow him in procession to the grave. The statement did. not trouble the two dozen sweethearts, nor the judge. The sweethearts burst into laughter and the judge sent the man to prison for four years.
