OUTBREAK OF FIRE.

AT REAR OF BUSINESS PREMISES. The double ringing of the firebell disturbed the luncheon hour of many business people yesterday, when' at 12.37 p.m., the brigade was summoned to attend an outbreak in a shea at the rear of Messrs. C. Smiths, Ltd., establishment in Broadway The shed, which was not attached to the main building - , was used for the purpose of keeping rubbish preparatory to destruction, and a quantity had in some mysterious way become ignited. The brigade had no difficulty in control of the fire, and apart from the shed being gutted, no damage was done. It is stated that none of the staff had occasion to visit the shed during the morning, and no suggestion can be advanced as to the cause of tho outbreak.
