HALCOMBE NOTES.

Last Monday evening Mr. and Mrs. C. Foreman were farewelled by the members of the Methodist Church, the Kev. Haynes making the presentation in an appropriate speech. lie said Mrs. Foreman had been a great Church worker, and no doubt, would be greatly missed. He then asked Mrs. Foreman to accept on behalf ot the members, a handsome salad bowl and silver service. Mr. Foreman suitably responded on behalf of 'Mis. Foreman. They left for their future home in Hawcra on Saturday. The opening of the Halcombe tennis courts took place on Saturday, Mr. W. McLennan performing the. openingceremony, after which afternoon tea was handed round by the. ladies. The first match was between Misses Cowdry and Mounsey and Miss OourJoy and Mrs. James, the former pair proving the winners.
