PROGRESS LEAGUE FORMED.

At the annual meeting of the Fcilding Boosters' Club held on Tuesday night, it was decided on the motion of Mr. C. Hausman, to change the name to tho Fcilding Progress League. The foliowing officers were elected: President, Mr. A. E. Sandford; vice-presidents, Messrs. C. Hausman, H. Tolley and K. J. Wackrill; committee, Messrs. C. E. Taylor, P. P. Stevens, H. B. Bun-ell, R. Cobbe, H. Smithers, P.. Tl. Smale, S. D. Pearce, C. S. Jeffs, W. \V. Andrews, E. B. Short, C. Jensen, J. Pauling, W. Harford and C. H. Sumner; secretary, Mr. »E. I>. Bees; trustees, •Messrs. A. E. Sandford and C. Hausman; auditors, Messrs. O. Aldis and A. J. Geary.

On taking the chair as the first president of the newly-constituted body, Mr. Sandford, in dealing with the question of policy, assured members that while there was plenty of scope for the society's work he intended to start modestly and gradually work into something big. He would also keep a very tight hold on the finances and expressed pleasure that the committee was so representative. There was work for all classes of the community. Mr. Sandford tendered his thinks to the stalwarts who had carried on during the past year, and who were still prepared to carry on the work. It had been said that the Boosters' Club had been formed for the, purpose or' helping their own businesses Well, if every business man would do his best for the town and join the league, it must go ahead. Names of intending members of Both 3?xes should be handed to any of the officials and the committee, and as the subscription has been fixed at such a low figure, everyone should join. The subscriptions are really the nucleus of a fighting fund to push the town.

RONGOTEA SHOW. POINTS PRIZES. Following- were the winners of the points prizes at the Rongotea Spring Show: Open class, W. E. Woightman; amateur, J. C. Glover; Rongotea and district, Mrs. McCall; novice, A. Yarrall; decorative, Mrs. McCall; children, Vera McCall; all points, J. C. Glover. In tho report of the opening ceremony, Mr. H. H. Hunt, a life member, was wrongfully described as president. The present president of the club is Mr. Glover.
