IMMIGRATION DELEGATION.
TO STUDY NEW ZEALAND’S NEEDS. [Per Press Association.] WELLINGTON, Sept. 7. A party comprising the following members of fire Imperial Oversees Immigration Committee is due to arrive in Auckland by the Niagara an Monday: Sir William Windham, Mr J. Wignall, M.P., Major-General Wauchope, and Miss G. Pott. The delegation is coming to New Zealand at the invitation of the Government, and will tour the Dominion for the purpose of seeing what field the country offers for Imperial immigrants, and what class can be most readily absorbed. Mr H. D. Thompson, Undersecretary for the New Zealand Immigration Department, and Mr J. I-lislop, Under-Secre-tary for Internal Affairs, are leaving Wellington to-day for the purpose of meeting the visiting delegates, who are coming straight to Wellington arriving Tuesday afternoon next. Hero the delegates will meet Lord Jellicoo and members of the Government before undertaking their tour.
