A resident of Masterton who is over I 65 years of age told an "Age" representative that he had never served on a jury, nor had he ever received a summons for jury service. He has resided in Masterton over 30 years. The Auckland branch of the Educational Institute, with one dissentient passed a resolution affirming its op-j position to a resolution carried by the Dominion Conference in favour of introducing of Bible reading in schools during school hours, such a resolution being contrary to the votes i of the majority of the branches and taken when a large number of delegates had left for their homes. |
