PALACE, "YELLOW MEN AND GOLD." ——_ t Those who look back with undimmccl delight to the first adventure story of youth will recognise an ancient thrill when" 'Yellow Men and Gold," by Gouvorneur Morris is shown at the Palace Theatre to-night. All the colour, action, and Romance that made Robert Louis Stevenson's adventure stories the joy of our childhood are present- in Goldwyn's fascinating i photoplay of busied treasure, on a volcanic island of the South Seas. Helen Chadwick as the delightful mistress of a strange Chinese rover of the soas and Richard Dix, as the mightyfisted treasure hunter, will arouse in every soul the inborn love for stout hearts in glorious adventure. A Sunshine comedy, "Wise Cracker," a pictorial and a Gazette will also be shown. KOSY. TOM MIX AND ZANE GREY PLAYS A treat is in store for the amusement lovers of Palmerstou. For to-day-there will be shown for a three-day run the William Fox production, "Catch My Smoke," Torn Mix's latest starring vehicle which has been the talk wherever it has been exhibited. Not only does the story appear Interesting, but the action, direction, and photography are of an exceptionally high calibre, according to the producer. There are also, deft touches of comedy throughout. "Catch my Smoke" tells the tale of a returned soldier from France (Tom Mix) who, upon, arriving at his ranch, discovers plans afoot to do away with him when his enemies discover oil upon his property. How he eludes his enemies, with the able assistance of his equine pal—Tony — rescues the girl of his dreams, and comes Into his own ought to provide six reels of absorbing action. The situations are said to be replete with excitement and the entire plot ingeniously constructed. If this photoplay is as interesting as the others in which Tom Mix has appeared, the Kosy Theatre will be jammed to capacity, especially in view of the producer's promise that this photoplay is an exceptional one. Zane Grey, "The Mysterious Rider," a Sclznick 5-reeler, the serial and a topical will also be shown. ZEALANDIA ROLLER RINK. A crowded floor was the order of the day at all four sessions yesterday at the Zealandia Skating Rink, and large numbers of enthusiasts, who were beginners -at the commencement of the season, are now in the front rank at the night sessions, twirling and cavorting with the best of them. The. rink will be open for four sessions dally, and competent and courteous instructors are in attendance at all sessions.
