ME WILFORD’S PLEA ON BEHALF OF CASUALS. (From Our Parliamentary Reporter.) WELLINGTON, Last Night. A question affecting nailwaymen was raised in the House to-day by Mr Wilfo.rd, who said it appeared that a regulation requiring permanent members of the railway service to retire at C 5 was being applied to casual employees. Hc asked if the Minister would have the regulation altered so (.hat it would not apply to casuals. It was all right for permanent employees to retire at 65. as they had superannuation, which the casuals had not.

Mr Coates said the matter was one Cabinet would have to dec.de_ His per. sonal inclination was to allow casuals to remain on after 61-, if they wore capable o.f doiug the work.
