LODGE GATHERING.
On Monday evening the Kowhai Rebekah Lodge gave a farewell social to Sister Churcher, who 'is leaving Feilding to take up a position in Palmerston North. There was a large gathering of Lodge members and their friends; also visitors from Palmerston North and Bulls. The evening was spent with songs, recitations and dancing, which was greatly enjoyed by all.' After the supper interval, the guest of the evening was made the recipient of two prsentations, one from the ladies' Lodge and the other from the Klwitea Lodge. Sister Matheson,, who made the presentation on behalf of the Rebekah Toadies . did so in an appropriate speech, referring to Sister Churcher's sterling qualities. Sister Churcher was a shining light in the Lodge Room at all time?, being blessed with a nature all would like to possess. Bro. Fla.vell made a presentation on behalf of the Klwitea Lodge in a fitting speech, referring to Sister Churcher's value to the Lodge in many ways.
