A Republican meeting at Bantry was dispersed in disorder by Free State Government supporters. Rotten eggs were thrown at Miss Albini Brodrick, sister of Viscount Midleton, while she was trying in vain to speak and the Republican flag was torn from her motor-car. DE VALERA'S PROXY. A large crowd assembled in O'Connell street, 1o hear Mr do Valera'S message lo iho people, which liis twelve.yoar-Old son, "Vivian, delivered. The latter was accompanied by tho young son of tho late Mr Erskine Childers.
Vivian said that his father could not speak to them, because the servants of foreigners had seized him. Ho knew not what they could do with his father. "They can put me and others to death," he said, "but they cannot- lfill the spirit of freedom in Ireland. That spirit will live, and Ireland be free from sea to sea, in spite of foreigners and tho servants ojc* foreigners."
