The Commemoration Day ceremony of the Agricultural High School which was to have beon held this week, has been postponed on account of the large amount of sickness prevalent. Unless practices for the production of "The Messiah," whloh the local Musical Union has in view, receive more support, the committee may have to reconsider the position. The orchestra has put in much practice and it is to be hoped that those comprising the chorus will maintain a better attendance. There was a heavy fall of snow at Apiti and the surrounding country on Monday, and a hard frost followed during the night. Again early yesterday morning, a further fall of snow took place and it was cold enough in Feilding yesterday to justify snow. Several showers of hail were experienced outside the Borough on the higher levels. On Monday evening, at the Parish Hall, the members of the Girls' Physical Culture Club spent a very pleasant time together to wind up their classes for the season. Presentations were made to the instructress. Miss D. Mills, and the secretary, Miss D. Lange after wirier several Items were given b ythc girls and dancing took place. After a dainty supper the evening was brought to a close. The election of employers* representatives on the Board of Managers of the Feilding Agricultural High School in place of Messrs A. H. Atkinson and A. J Kellow, who retire by ballot, will tuko' place at the Technical school at 3.15 p.m. on Thursday next. Both of the retiring members are eligible for re-election. In connection with ifno election of parents' representatives, this will take place on September 13. Tho retiring member in this case, Mrs J. S. Tingey, is also eligible for reelection. A knowledge of fertilizers and their application is essential to all farmers, and all those desirous of obtaining first hand information on this very important subject should make a special effort to attend a lecture which is to given by Mr L. J. Wild, Director of the Feilding Agricultural College, in the Borough library room at 2 p.m. on Saturday next. This lecture has been arra.nged for by the provincial executive of the Farmers' Union and it trusted that there will be a representative gathering of farmers.
