200 YEARS HENCE.
ANOTHER ICE AGE COMING. [By Electric Cable—Copyright]. [Aust. and N.Z. Cable Association.] PARIS, Aug. 4. A distinguished astronomer and meteorologist declares that the world 200 years hence will be caught fast in the frozen grip of another ice age, due to the earth not producing enough carbonic acid gas. Giant glaciers will form at the poles and spread toward the equator, and in their inevitable progression will twist the earth into an ice-capped waste. The professor believes that there have already been two glacial periods between which was a period of temperature such as is now enjoyed.
