LOANS FOR DWELLINGS.

SUBMISSION OF TENDERS,

(From our Parliamentary Reporter.) WELLINGTON, Last Night'.

A question was asked in the House this afternoon by Mr. Smith respecting applications for loans to brect dwellings. Mr. Smith said the new forms had been issued and it appeared that the applicant would have to forward with the application for a loan the amount of the tender or contract entered into. Mr. Smith thought that might involve tho applicant in a. breach of contract if his application was turned down.

Mr. Massey was not able to answer the question at the moment, but said -he would look into it. Ho added that it was not intended that a position such as Mr. Smith had alluded to should arise.
