LOWER DECK GOES SLOW.
PROTEST AGAINST POOR POOD. CAPTAIN HAS NOTHING TO SAY [By Electric Cable —Copyright.! [Aust. and N.Z. Cable Association.] BRISBANE, Aug. 6. On the arrival of the Adelaide the members of the crew stated that on account of the poor quality of the food on the recent northern cruise the men called a meeting of the lower deck and decided to go slow, at work wherever the vessel coaled. Some oi them cut the falls attached to several boats to attract the attention of the officers.
Captain Stevenson, when interviewed, declined to comment on the matter.
