During the past month building permits to the value of £5614 were granted in Feilding. At the Borough Council meeting last night', Cr. Pryde said that Johnston Park had become a very popular picnic ground, but part of it required clearing and levelling so as to make it more suitable, for the playing of games, and he suggested that' the present ground-keeper at Kowhai Park might be utilised in this connection. Advice has been received by the Feilding Borough Council that the Governor-General will be pleased to unveil the memorial to fallen soldiers in Feilding and suggested September as a suitable month. It was also advised tliat’ Her Excellency would accompany the Governor-General.
