ROYALTIES ON ASIAGO.

SCENES OF HOMERIC CONFLICTS. [By Electric Cable—Copyright.] [Aust. and N.Z. CabLe Association.] (Received Monday, 8.10 p.m.) ROME, May 13. King George and Queen Mary went for a long motor drive to the plateau of Asiago, where furious righting in the offensives of 1916 and 1918 took place. All the hamlets were decorated with little triumphal arches of greenery and flowers. Their Majesties lunched in the open air at a spot where a detachment of British troops held the front for nine months, overlooking precipitous slopes of the Val ■d' Ossa. Their Majesties also had a glimpse of the terrible nature of the fighting in the mountain defiles and fastnesses.
