United, at Kaimatarau; referee, Mr. W. J. Smith. Sandon v. Kawhata, at' Sanson; referee, Mr. J. Richardson. ASSOCIATION FOOTBALL. LEVIN v. FOXTON. The above match was played on the racecourse last Saturday, at* Foxton, and resulted in a win for Foxton, by 7 goals to 0. The game was not of an exciting nature, being spoilt with off-side play a s the Levin team had not their full strength on the field, and were playing tlie one-badjk game, which was layed to a nicety by the Levin fullback, he giving the Foxton forward line no chances of playing a good combination game. Following are some notes on the Foxton playNixon (goalie), carried out his duties without fault, having very little to do but take the goal kicks. Welby (right fullback), played his usual game, being very safe and his kicking was pretty to see. Mounsey (left fullback. The first time in that position for the club, he having been previously among the forward line, but the selection committee appear to have found his proper place. Although his kicking power is not equal to his nest mate, his recoveries are very quick and safe.
Morgan (right fullback), played like an old-timer. Likes plenty of work and appears to have the knaok of being whore he is wanted.
Hinds (centre half). This not being his true position, although being worthy of the place, appeared to be out' of his stride. Bync (left half hack). An old veteran, prefers to be a spectator, but always willing to assist the dlub when necessary. Francis (left outside forward), played his usual game, making several good runs. but. did not understand the one-back game. He was accountable for one of the goals. Phillips (left inside forward). The first time out this season; acquited him self very fairly but was rather weak in shooting, although he was responsible for one of the goals. Jenvey (centre half). The skipper of the team; plenty of dash when in form, also a frier to the last; was accountable for several goals, but should have had more unless the Levin grease on the ball was responsible. S. O. Rise (right inside forward). A very tricjky player and is a good help to the team, but he is apt to forget ho is among new chums to the game.
Ulmstanley (right outside forward), played a fair game, but was handicapped in not understanding the one-back
game, and more practice in controlling the ball would be in his favour. FIXTURES. Second round of draw. —Levin v. Ramblers, ground No. 1; Mr. Dunaumb. St'. Andrew's v.
