MOTHER AND SON BANQUET. With the great success of the mother and son banquet held by the Y M C.A., some time ago, the association repeated it last night, when the extensive gymnasium was converted into a banqueting roo.m where mothers and sons sat together to a pleasant evening. Mrs. James Wallace occupied the chair. The function was a junior affair, the mothers present being those, of primary and secondary schools, and those in employ. Following " The King," was 'the toast "To our Mothers," proposed by Mr. Eric Stiles. Also drunk to was the toast of "To our Sons," proposed by Mrs. T. R. Hodder. Games and community singing formed a great part of the evening, with selections from an orchestra. Supper was in the hands of a committee of ladies. A vote of thanks was proposed by Mr. W. B. Tennant, chairman of the boys' work committee, at the conclusion of the evening.
