£60,000 FOR LAND.
BIG SALE AT BULLS. KEEN DEMAND AND GOOD PRICES. That the demand for land is still üB. satisfied, so long as the price is right, was demonstrated beyond doubt yesier day afternoon, when the well-known Mclvelvie Flock. House Estate, of 33U0 acres, was ottered at public auction. The Town Hall_ Bulls, was crowded, between 600 and 700 persons being present from ail parts of the North Island.
The property had been in the Mc. Kelvi e family for seventy years, and was well and favourably known. It had been subdivided in 34 sections, ranging in area from 16 to 461 acres, and all except eight sections were sold at prices ranging from £8 to £63 5/ per acre, the sale realising just on £60,000. Mr. R. P. Abraham acted as auctioneer and bidding came frc.eiy for most of the sections. The sale was conducted by Messrs Abraham and Williams, Ltd., and Levin and Ltd., joint auction, eers, on behalf of Mr Lynn McKelvie, the owner. The sections sold as follow: Lots 1 and 2, 252 acres, at £2B 10/per aero, to D. W. Wilson, Wangauui.
Lot 3, 107 acres, at £25 per to D_ W. Wilson, Wanganui. Lot 4, 116 acres, at £3l per acre, to R. W. O. Dalrymple, Bulls. Lot 5, 171 acres, at £2B per acre to J. G. Eliotr, junr., Bulls.
Lots '6 and 7, 150 acres, at £24 per acre, to D. W. Wilson, Wanganui. Lot 8, 15 acres, at £4l 10/ per acre, to D. W. Wilson, Wanganui.
Lot 9, 16 acres, at £42 10/ per acre, ,o H. Bowen, Toko, Stratford.
Lot 10, 31 acres, at £4l 10/ per acre, to H. Bowen, Toko. Lot 11, 49 acres, at 50 er acre to Roach, Brunswick. Lot 12, 4 9 acres, at £54 5/- per acre, to J. W t Simpson, Bulls. Lots 13 and 14 t 90 acres, at £55 15/ per acre, to A. E. Symesj Waverley. Lot 15, paused. Lot 16, 80 acres, at £4O per acre, to A. Amon, 8u..15. Lots 17 and 18. 85 acres > at £63 5/ por acre, to J. W. Simpson," Bulls. Lots 19., 20, 21, and 22, 125 acres, at £SO per acre # to A # E. Symes,Waverley.
Lot 23, 131 acres, at £l6 per acre, to J. Gordon Elliott, Bulls. Lots 24, 2i>, 26, 27 and 28, passed. Lot 29 t 160 acres, at £SO per acre, to H. Holland, Parewanui. Lot 30, passed. Lot 31, 76 acres, at £l4 per acre, to Wall and Anderson, Bulls.
Lot 32, 33 acres at £ls per acre, to Wall and Bulls. Lot 33, passed. Lot 34, 103 acres, at £8 per acre, to M. Anderson, Bulls.
The eight passed sections are now available for pri v ate treaty with the auctioneers.
