Advices from London, state that Mr. Charles Worsley, the New Zealand artist, has died at Brescia o,f bronchial pneumonia. The health of the Minister of Lands and Railways (Mr Guthrie), who is resting in a Wellington private hospital, is stated to be improving. Mr J. Aitchison,of Church Street,Palmerston North, leaves to-day for Auck. land, where he takes up his new duties as secretary and director of the United Sales Company, Ltd. Mrs Aitchison will leave for Auckland at a later date. Mr Henry E. Mines, who has been on the staff of Messrs Barraud and Abraham, Ltd., for the last five years, has left to take up an important position on the staff of Messrs Perham, Larson and Co., at Ragataua. His many friends will wish him every success in his new venture. Mr Clutha McKenzie passed through Palmerston North on his way from Auckland on Saturday. In conversation with a “Manawatu Times” representative, he said that he felt extremely grateful to the residents tor their magnificent response in connection with the Pearson memorial fund.
