NOTES. The locally owned Eonmark put up two creditable performances at Blenheim on Saturday. Ho had an easy win in the Picton Welter, carrying 9.13, and in two races later, he ran a good second carrying at least 10.4. Pan tier raced consistently during the Nelson and Blenheim circuit. “ Roley ” Hatch had a good innings at Nelson and Blenheim with Tribou. let and Is.and. Arataura, winner of the Telegraph Hack at Napier on Saturday, is more than useful, and will win in much bet ter company before the season closes. Rapine was sent out an odds on fa. vourite for the McVay Memorial at Napier, but failed to catch Haurangi by a head. The race will do him a lot of good and h« should be “ cherry ripe ” by the time the Easter meetings come round. Dominant, winner of the Trial Handicap, is a three.year-old Ally by Mar. tian from Love.orn, and evidently the race she had at Dannevirke did her a lot of good. Epitaph is racing very disappoint, ingly, she was beaten into third place at Napier on Saturday by a couple of moderates. Big money was planked on Civil, form on Saturday, but he was beaten out of a place. Crown Star has cost his admirers a parcel of money since the Woodvll'e meeting, one of these days he will bob up and pay the limit. Out of 22 applicants, Mr D. R. Ogilvy, of Foxton, has been appointed secretary of the Foxton Racing Club, vice Mr L. R. Freeman, who is_ leaving for Auckland to enter into business on his own account. The Collinghame suit of Collinson and Cunninghame's is being worn by increasing numbers of men for business and general purposes. We suggest that you inspect the Collinghame, and we wait to show you its points of superiority. Priced from 10 guineas downwards.
