March 10. t Armed men burned down two wings i of the Delvin workhouse, after giving *■ the occupants ten minutes to clear i ;out. s The Rikerstown viaduct, on the * Dundalk-Grecnore railway, was blown f up by a land mine. The explosion c was heard ten miles away. The. Free State, commandant, on visiting Mr Powell, sister of the late Michael Collins, in Cork, found the irregulars in possession. They had saturated the house with petrol, and it was ready for burning. The Commandant was seriously wounded. One Irregular was captured, and the others escaped in a motor ear.
