PRESENTATION AT TERRACE END At the Terrace End bowling green on Saturday afternoon, in the presence of a large number of bowlers a plea- , sunt little function took place, the pre. sident, Mr. K. Edwards, presenting Mr. Joseph Wallace with the Manawatu , Bowling Centre’s certificate for the , champion of champions (singles) for the season 1921-22. The president, in a neat speech, referred to the chain- , pion’s capabilities and popularity as • a bowler, his remarks being heartily cheered by those present. Mr. Wal lace suitably responded. Cheers for the ; champion and for the president con. \ c udod a very happy event. Certificates for the champion of , champions, singles, for the season ] 1020.21, won by Mr. W. Carter, and for the champion of champions, pairs, ; 1920.21, won by Messrs. Carter and Read, were also received, these gentlemen being at that time members of the Terrace End Club, but now having left the district. | Very keen interest is being evidenced in the colts competition, now nearing completion, and it looks as if the club will have some good bowlers for next I season. The president has presented for com- ■ petition two gold medals for the best c'ub pairs and as these medals are to ■ be won outright, the games will all be keenly fought. . The fourth round of the Palmerston . North Club’s rink competition was played on Saturday. Following were the results: —Welch, ] Stevens, Kerslake, and Jolly (s), 27, ( beat Whitehead, Griggs.
