RENTS.
(To the Editor.) Sir,' —Could you inform me through your paper the answer to the following question? I have been the tenant of a house for the last three years, paying fifteen shillings per week. The landlord sent me a note stating that from 9th October the rent would be one pound. Speaking to him yesterday, he says that he now wants 25s per week, six months payable in advance. Can he do this? —I am. etc., PERPLEXED. p.S.—I may state the rent is paid up to date. [As the Government has decided to allow the rent restriction legislation to lapse at the end of December, we presume that after that date landlords will be able to do as they like.—-Ed. M.D.T.]
