ST. PAUL’S METHODIST CHURCH.
The Rev. G. S. Cook presided over an attendance of 26 members of ofiicials of St. Paul’s Methodist Church on Wednesday evening. A vote of sympathy with Mr G. H. Bennett and family in the death of Mrs S. Bennett was carried in silence. Reports of Sunday School work, and of other branches of the Church’s activities, were read, and disclosed a satisfactory position. The chairman reported the results of work done by the Band of Hope, and also mentioned that a decision service for young people held during the past quarter had met with a line response. Two members of the theological class conducted by the Rev. Cook were authorised to bo placed on trial as local prcacheis. Messrs IT. E. Baccy and J. A. MeLeavey were appointed representatives of the church at the ensuing Synod. The meeting decided to extend an invitation to the Rev. Rugby Pratt to an appointment at St. Paul’s for the forthcoming term, and also extended an invitation to the Rev. Ashmore for the Ashhurst. Church. The proposal for holding community prayer meetings met with the approval of members, and it was decided to accord the movement all possible assistance and support. ___
