SHIPPING FREIGHTS.
PRODUCERS ASK FOB REDUCTIONS. (From Our Parliamentary Reporter.) WELLINGTON, July 4. The Meat Control Board, In conjunction with the dairy producers and fruitgrowers’ organisations, has approached representatives of overseas shipping companies with a view to securing reductions in freights on New Zealand produce exported to England next season. Early negotiations' are necessary as the shipping companies refer the matter to England for final decision. The producers’ delegates have had a personal interview with the shipping manager, but there was no indication forthcoming of the companies' intentions.
