Fuller was ordered to pay £5 3/2 to J. R. Attwood forthwith, or go to gaol for seven days. E. Porter to pay W. Cromb £2B 19/, in default 28 days, warrant to be suspended so long as debtor pays 10/ a month. V. A. Phillips was given the option of paying £6 11/3 to the N.Z. Loan and Mercantile Agency Co., Ltd., or going to gaol for 14 days. George Clarke was ordered to pay A. J. Mahon and Co. £l2 1/3 forthwith, in default 14 days' imprisonment. - " RENT DISPUTE. Decision was reserved by the Magistrate in a case in which Arthur H. Whitehead (Mr Tremaine) sought to recover from J. Pullar (Mr Oram) the sum of £3O, being the amount of rent paid between September sth, 1921, and February 22nd, 1922, by plaintiff alleged to have been in excess of the standard rent in respect of a dwelling, number 366 Church Street. Plaintiff stated that he had paid £2 a week for the dwelling during that period, and contended that the standard rent was 15/ a week. A MATTER OF MEALS. An action for the recovery of £2 10/" for meals and afternoon teas supplied to Mrs Matilda Brown's daughter, was brought by F. W. Klein, restauranteur, against Mrs Brown. Mr Meatyard appeared for plaintiff and Mr Tremaine for defendant. Defendant, it was stated, was employed as kitchenmaid, and her daughter visitei the restaurant occasionally to give assistance, partaking of teas on these occasions. Judgment was given for defendant.
