No sweet ’ er music could bo. wished for, and the. • interpretation is typical (say; an ex- > change) of the temperament of the r soulful whahatau of the South Seas, 1 The Hawaiian* unquestionably have music in their souls, and their work i is never mechanical, conventional, or - stodgy. By special request, Mr. Keoke Greig gave “The Rosary.” his interpretation of this popular siting : being exquisite. Miss Lilliokalanl 3 danced the famous. “Luau Hula” — ' the dance that fiction writers and ' poets have so long raved about. Garb- • cd in native costume, with a beautiful background, the dancer left such a 3 pleasing effect that she received an f Imperative recall. One number that 1 specially appealed was -Miss A. Leata's ' "Arabian Moon,” simp in Eastern cosf tume. with appropriate stage setting. ' The company gave an imitation of ' tho brewing of "Kava" —the “wine’* lof the tropics.
