PALMERSTON NORTH SEAT,

The name of Mr P. J. Small, chairman of the Kairanga, County Council,

has been freely mentioned in connection with the Palmerston North seat at the next general election. Interviewed by a "Times" representative on Saturday, Mr Small stated that he had been approached by a number of electors, and requested to allow himself to be nominated for the seat. He had not yet, however, arrived at a definite conclusion in the matter.
