THE WEATHER.
Mr D. C. Bates wired last night:— Present weather indications are for northerly winds, strong to gale, backing to westerlies northward of New Plymouth and Napier, and to southerlies shortly elsewhere. Weather unsettled and boisterous, with rain generally. Heavy rain, with rivers rising in western and southernmost districts. Barometer falling, but rise after 24 hours.
