In the Assembly Mr Ogden (Labour) moved that a petition be sent to the King against tho Representatives Bill, which blocks State members from being nominated for Federal seats without resigning, as it contravenes section 59 of the Constitution. The Premrer and Leader of the Opposition endorsed the protest, but deprecated asking the King to interfere in domestic politics. The motion was lost by 12 votes to' 11. '
