"REPUTATION."
GREAT PICTURE AT THE V PALACE. From time to time picture show proprietors are in the habit of giving a great deal of advance publicity to j certain pictures which are claimed to possess characteristics which place them far above the average. In many cases there is no possible doubt that the pictures when produced fall far short of public expectation. On the other hand, there are those which are all that is claimed for them. In this category must be placed the star film "Reputation," which made its first appearance at the Palace Theatre last evening. . Miss Priscilla Dean, the actress who plays the principal role, is one of the few whose dramatic genius has placed her with meteoric prominence at the head of the "movie" profession by sheer force of personality rather than by the "boosting" capacity of her publicity agent. With the perfection of the cinematograph, dual role plots have rapidly come into vogue. In that respect, the silent drama has been given another telling advantage over that of the legitimate stage. In no picture of recent production have the great possibilities of this type of plot been so well brought out as in "Reputation." Miss Dean rises to her greatest heights in this magnificent picture which affords her splendid opportunities. The big audience last night were most enthusiastic over the production. "Reputation" is supported by a Pathe 'Gazette and a Larry Semon comedy, "Solid Concrete." This programme will be shown this evening and again on Saturday night. '
