ENTERTAINMENTS.

INDEPENDENT PICTURES. “A MANHATTAN KNIGHT.” Handsome George Walsh has never had a role for which he was morn eminently fitted than that of “A Manhattan Knight," the feature picture of the star programme which will be shown for the last time by the Independent Pictures at the Opera House last evening. This picture would be a guaranteed wanner with any audience if it were shown by itself, but as an additional attraction there will be seen sweet Peggy Hyland in an altogether fascinating film, “The Web of Chance.” And there are others, while P. Flynn’s orchestra turns on the soft music. COMING THURSDAY. “PUPPETS OF FATE.” The new programme to be screened by the Independent Pictures at the Opera House to-morrow night will be headed by the latest Viola Dana picture, “The Puppets of Fate," in which the fascinating little star has a wonderful opportunity for displaying her unique dramatic gifts. The picture has a wonderful moral story to tell, showing how sacrifice won what force could not conquer, and again proves that luck sometimes loses love. EVERYBODY’S. r Vaudeville with pictures will again be put on at Everybody’s to-night. This is a good combination. Geo. Dean proves himself to be a clever actor and good singer. The Howards again mystified their audience, and the pictures of the “Pope at the Vatican” with Shamus O’Brien were well received. KOSY. “Twin Pawns” (Mae Murray) and “Desperate Youth" (Gladys Walton), with a Mack Bennett comedy and topical, make a good 3-hour movie entertainment at the Kosy. PALACE. “The Great Day,” a British Paramount now showing at the Palace, is a picture that movie fans should make a point of seeing. The English and French scenes are quite refreshing. The story is a strong one and well told. FLOWER SHOW. A flower show and sale of work will be held in All Saints’ School on Saturday, November 26th. There will be tea rooms, ice crefPm and strawberries and cream, a meat and produce stall, and a work stall run in conjunction with the flower show. Admission is 6d, and everybody is cordially invited.
