A MOTOR FATALITY.

(Per Press Association.) BLENHEIM, November 22. Mr James Johnston, aged 85, Public Health Inspector for Marlborough, was killed in a motor accident last night on the Picton road, near Tuamarina. A car, driven by Mr N. McArtney, a Royal Insurance inspector, overtook a motor-cycle and side-car near the Para Swamp. In an endeavour to pass this, McArtney failed to keep to the road, and the car overturned, pinning the occupants be. neath it. McArtney was practically uninjured, but Johnston was hurt about the head, and must .have died almost instantaneously. One hour elapsed before the car could be lifted from the body.
