A GAOL ESCAPEE.

PAYS THE PENALTY. (Por press Association ' TE AWAMUTU, Last Night. James Brown Olsen, who escaped from the Waikeria Reformatory on October G, was before the Court today. He was a member of a camp party four miles from the reformatory block, and was detailed to carry water for the camp, thus finding an opportunity to escape. He evaded his pursuers, and travelled across the island to Napier, where he was arrested. He was sentenced to eighteen months’ hard labour, the sentences to be cumulative.
