Mr George Plummer, of the firm of Hill and Plummer, Ltd., who arrived in New Zealand with the Albertland settlers, died suddenly at Auckland on Monday evening, at the age of eightyone years. Mr H. B. The members of the Palmerston North Bowling Club on Tuesday afternoon presented Mr W. Crump, a very popular member of the Club, with a down quilt, on the occasion .of his approaching) marriage. Tho president (Mr J. A. Nash, M.P.), in making the presentation, referred to Mr Crump's long connection with the Club and his service in the war, and said it was joy to play a game with such a flno sportsman as Mr Crump had always proved himself to be. Mr J. H. StO' vens, in referring to Mr Crump's connection with the Post Office, said that while he (the speaker) was postmaster hoTC, it had been largely owing to Mr Crump's genial disposition, that a fine spirit of esprit do corps had K'en engendered among the staff.
