CENSUS RETURNS.

KAIRANGA FIGURES,

The census figures for the Kairangtt ■County have now been made available by the chief sub-enumerator (Mr A. E. Frederic). These show that the total population of Kairanga County (excluding Palmerston North) is 4(io'7, consisting of 2464 males and 2203 females. This shows an increase of 543 over the 191(5 figures, Svhen the population of the County was 4124. The population of the whole of Kairanga (including Palmerston North) is 20,315, consisting of 9994 males apd 10,321 females.' These are the final figures for the census in this district, and the sub-enumerator's work is no\* complete.
