NEW ZEALAND WHEAT.
A NEW CLASSIFICATION.
(Per Press Association.) ASHBURTON, Last- Night,
Regarding the classification of the varieties of wheat for the season 1921-22, the Minister-of Agriculture stated to-day that he had investigated the matter as promised, and found that several varieties now included in the Hunter class should, on account of their low milling qualities, be placed with thp lower.priced wheats under tho heading of Tuscan. The varieties referred to .were; McCallum’s', Bordier, Sensation,.and Victor. In order that due notice v foe given to growers before the sowing season is commenced, Mr Nosworthy indicated the probable classification for next season as follows:—Tuscan, to include all varieties of ( i Tuscan, also Talavera, Dreadnought, \Red Marvel, Federation, Yandalla King, John Brown, McCallum’s, Bordier, Sensation and Victor, also all varieties not classed as Hunters or Pearl herein. Hunters to include all varieties of Hunters, also Webb’s Challenge. Webb’s Stand-up, White Velveteen, Redchaff and Pearl, including Pearl Velvet and Bobs. Mr Nosworthy said that this information would be gazetted in a few days.
