HOME FOR INCURABLES.

A CJRYING NEED. The crying need for some provision to be made in Palmcrston North for a home or accommodation in existing institutions for cases of incurable disease was again' voiced at the Hospital Board meeting yesterday by IMrs Z. S. Gill,. Mrs Gill was referring to one particular case she had in mind, but pointed out that there were so many of them with families who had not the proper accommodation for them and were not in the position to look after them, although in most cases they could afford to keep the patients in the homo If it wore provided. At the present time they could not be sent to the Old Peoples' Home; nor was there any provision for them in the Hospital. The speaker mentioned that the. building committee of the Board had been instructed, at Mr Hornblow's instigation, to investigate the possibilities of having a ward for incurables at the hospital, but so far no report had been received from them. The matter was again referred to the building committee, with instructions to report on the matter.
