* # STOCK S.VLES. Abraham and Williams Ltd.. report; —At Feilding on llth inst., a good yarding- of both sheep and cattle came, forward. Vendors were meeting the market and practically every pen of sheep was sold under the hammer. Cattle were in poor demand. We quote:— Sheep:—pat wethers 19/6 to 24/3, 4,6, and S-tooth ewes 13/- to 19/-, 2-tooth ewes to IS/-, 2-tooth wethers 16/6 to 18/-. Good shorn lambs 13/1 to 15/2. Woolly lambs 12/9 to 16/2. Cull lambs 6/9 to 9/3. Cattle: —Dairy cows £8 to £ll/10/0. Forward cows £5/2/6 to £5/17/6. Stores £2/10/0 to £3/12/6. Yearling Heroforris to £2/6/0. Weaner heifers £1 to £2/6/0. Dalgety and Company Ltd. Palmerston North, report on 1/icir monthly sale. We had a good yarding of sheep which met a market depressed in sympathy with outside sales. We quote:—Sheep.—Medium 4-year ewes 12/-, fair 4 and 5-year ewes 13/- to 14/6, medium lambs 11/3, cull lambs 2/6 to 4/-, Romney rams 2/2. The Wairarapa Farmers' Co-opera-tive Association, Ltd., (Stock Department), Pahiatua, report on their annual Ewfc Fair held in their Mangahao yards, Pahiatua, on Monday, 14th inst., as follows: —We offered a full yarding comprising, as usual, the annual drafts from the principal farmers and settlers in the district. The quality of the offering compared very favourably with that of previous years and most lines reached the condition of past offerings. This sale was the first of its kind held this year, and owing to the unsettled state of the wool market at present, those interested were uncertain as to the values would rule. As was ✓anticipated the finest wool ewes, suitable for fat lamb rearing were in best demand. Buyers representative of all parts of this and outside districts were present in large numbers, and as announced at the commencement of the sale, vendors were prepared to .neet the present day values, and a good clearance resulted. We yarded L 2.400 ewes and sold 9400. The majority of lines soli* went to Manawatu buyers, whilst a Taranaki purchaser was also an extensive buyer.
