Mr and Mrs A. H. Kitto, of Raetihi, are spending a few days in Palmerston. i A London cablegram announces the death of Mr Charles Crosse, secretary of the Rifle Association. A young man named W. C. Miles, aged 22 years, a well-known Dannevirke settler, died at the Hospital yesterday. Mr Mills, of Tokaora, Hawera, who lakes great interest in fostering the dairy industry in New Zealand, is spending a few days here. After their trip to the French Pass and spending a'few weeks in Canterbury, the Rev. 11. G. and Mrs Blaekburne returned to Palmerston on Tuesday. The election for'a represontati%-e on the P. and T. Appeal Board resulted: I. Bennett (Wellington) 1844, H. H. Brown (Wanganui) 1459, H. Shaw (Christchurch) 317. Christine Errfmett, who recently passed the Public Serv'"e examination, and Cora Bartlett. / ho was successful in the intermediate examination, are both pupils of the Palmerston North Convent School.
