LAND AGENT’S SMASH.

(Per Press Association.) CHRISTCHURCH Last night. At a meeting of creditors of William Allan Hopkins, a well-known land agent held to-night, the following resolution was carried: That Mr W. A. Hopkins be asked to file a petition in bankruptcy and in default of his doing so within seven days, it is the wish of the meeting that creditors’ petitions be prosecuted against the estate. The claims definitely stated at the meeting amounted to £45,717. One of the trustees stated that the indebtness was nearer £66,000. It was stated at the meeting that Hopkins is at present an inmate of a mental hospital.
