CHRISTCHURCH, Last Night.

At the Addington Market there was a stronger tone in to-day's sale, due to the pastures being much benefited by the recent rains. Store sheep: An overflow yarding, numbering from to 27,000, the bulk being lambs, including southern consignments In spite of the big penning, lamb values held up, but adult sheep were slow of sale. Forward lambs 21/9 to 26/1, medium 18/ to 21/6, inferior 14/6 to 17/, cull lambs 9/9 to 13/, four and six-tooth wethers 21/4 to 23/1, inferior ditto 19/9 to 20/6, fairly good 2-tooth wethers 22/6, inferior ditto 18/7 to 19/4, good 4 and 6-tooth ewes 26/1 to 28/, fairly good ditto 22/3 to 24/, sound and failing-mouthed ewes 14/ to 18/3. Fat lambs: An entry of 5,256, about the same as last week, and a keen sale at fully recent values. Extra prime lambs: 34/ to„ 36/6, prime lambs 30/ to 33/6, medium lambs 26/9 to 29/6, lighter lambs 23/9 to 26/3. Fat sheep: An average yarding of seven races. A firmer tone wiais displayed', vfilues being about 2/ a head better than last week's low rates. Extra prime wethers 36/3 to 38/9\ prime wethers 31/6 to 34/9, medium wethers '27/9 to 31/, light and inferior 24/ to 27/, extra prime ewes to 34/9, prime ewes 28/9 to 32/3, medium ewes 25/ to 28/9, light and unfinished ewes 22/10, to 24/-. Fat cattle: A slightly smaller yarding and an improved demiandi values being frbout £1 f. head better. Extra, prime steers £24 to £26/6/6, prime steers £2O to £23/10, medium steers £l4/15 to £l9/ 10, light and unfinished steers £9/5 to £l3/10, prime cows £l2/17/6 to £l7/5, ordinary cows £8 to £l2/10, extra prime heifers £l7/17/6 to £l9/ 7/6, prime heifers £l3 to £ls/10, ordinary heifers £9/10 to £l2/5. Vealers: A poor yarding in quality and numbers, and a good demand. Store cattle: An indifferent collection of fresh cows were the only section in demand. Dairy cattle: A keen demand for good sorts, which brought from £2O to £26/10. Fat pigs: A smaller entry and a better demand. Choppers £5/10 to £B, light baconers £4/5 to £4/15, heavy £5/7/6, average price per lb 7d to 74d. Porkers £2/ 10 to £3/15, average price per lb 9d to lOd. Store pigs: A small enjtrly,. and an indifferent demjand. Medium stores £2/6 to £2/10/6, small 30/ to £2/3, weaners 14/ to 28/.
