WORK OR GET OUT !

NORTHERN MINE CLOSED. (Per Press Association.) AUCKLAND, Last night. The continuation of the go-slow at the Northern Coal Company's mine at Kiripaka, culminated to-day in the mine closing indefinitely. Recently a liquidator of the company visited the mine, and entered into an arrangement whereby the men undertook to produce over 100 tons a day, and in the meantime communicate with the Federation on the question of discontinuing the go-slow. The Federation replied that the go-slow was to continue and yesterday evening the manager informed the men that they must either call off the go-slow, or take their tools out of the mine. The men adopted the latter course, and fifty are now idle. The go-slow was continued at the three Waikato mines yesterday.
