BREAK ALL PREVIOUS WORLD S RECORDS. We are in receipt of the following' cable from the Hudson Factory, dated August 11th, 1 020, which is self explanatory;— “Stock Essex Touring- Car just completed Trans - Continental run New York to San Francisco, in 4 days 19 hours 17 minutes, and from San Francisco to New York in 4 days 14 hours 43 minutes, breaking all previous records by more than a half-day. . . 8347 miles each way, most coveted record in world.” This wonderful performance by a Stock Model ESSEX again shows that it inherits the Super-Six endurance and stability. When the Hudson established the record across America in 5 days 3 hours 21 minutes, breaking ail previous records, it turned round and ran back in 5 days IT hours 42 minutes, establishing a record both ways. It was considered unbeatable, having travelled 6952 miles in 10 days 21 hours, averaging 700 miles per day. The record just established by the ESSEX is exceedingly more remarkable considering the size and h.p. of the car, covering the distance in 4 days 19 hours 17 minutes, and then returning in the remarkable time of 4 days 14 hours 43 minutes, a total time for the 6952 miles of 9 days 10 hours an average of 737 miles petday, working out at 30.7 miles pethour for the whole journey, against the Hudson’s time of 10 days 21 hours, averaging 700 per day. The previous records which were held only one way (no other car ever attempting the two-way trip, until Hudson and Essex), were: Winton, Packard. Reo Stutz, Cadillac, Marmon, Hudson, Essex. The record held in the order given, but only one way, witli the ception of Hudson and Essex. This wonderful endurance record over the roughest roads, twice across America, comes on top of the world’s endurance record by the Essex on the Cincinatti speedway last December, covering 3037 miles in 50 hours, averaging 60.7 miles per hour; ana 6870 miles in 94 hours 22 minutes. This was run in sleet and snow part • of the time. Xo other car ever held records of endurance and stability equal to what the Essex holds to-day. The makers of the Essex are proud to be able to produce a small car with such wonderful qualities. The Agents for the Essex are proud to sell the Essex because they know that the Essex is a car on which they can build up a reputation. The many owners of an Essex arcproud to possess this car because they know': — 1. They have a car that will do ail their work all the time. 2. They have a car of absolute dependability. 3. They have a car built with the Hudson thoroughness, solidity and sturdiness. 4. They have a car that is comcomfortable and economical ami gives them complete satisfaction. Why not let us show' you a few' of the many good features found in the Essex car, that are not to be found in many much higher-priced cars; or better still, let us give you a run in an Essex.
