STRIKE SEQUEL.

CONQUEST "STOOD DOWN." (Per Press Association.) AUCKLAND, Dast night. At a meeting of the Auckland District Committee, a jockey, J. J. Conquest, had his license suspended for the remainder of the season for breaking an engagement to ride at the Avondale races on April 10th. The Committee expressed appreciation of the frankness of Conquest's explanation and was satisfied that in breaking his engagements, as he admitted, he honestly considered he was bound to join with the members of his Association, and that he was not a promoter of the action complained of.
