SHANNON NOTES.

(From Our Own Correspondent.) The Excelsior Hockey Club from Levin sent a team up to play a match with a team from the Albion Club (Shannon). The game was well contested throughout. For the local club Hook, K. Gardner, King and Stevens were the mainstay. The game resulted in a win for Levin by 2 to nil. A number of owners of wandering stock were mulcted on the prosecution of the borough ranger, in sums varying from 5/ upwards. A great deal of hostility is shown by some ot the owners against, the Mayor and Councillors over these prosecutions. Tim instruction of the Council to the ranger is to summon all without, tear or favour. > „-£iL tJmm
