ROSY. I Montague Love is well placed as the lumberboss who comes to run a town in “The Rough Neck.” The manner of his wooing is novel —very. EVERYBODY'S. Jackie Saunders has a pleasing part to play in “A Bit of Kindling,” now showing at Everybody’s. PALACE. FINE HAYAKAWA DRAMA. Sessue Hayakawa is such a charming actor, that one can extend sympathy to him in roles, such as he has had of late, where the beautiful Western girl cannot marry him because of racial prejudice or the colour line or some other reason. In “Bonds of Honour,” his latest Haworth special feature, he is at last fortunate in getting a girl to himself, without having to fade out in grief at the close of the picture. In “Bonds of Honour,” he is responsible for a remarkably fine characterisation in the dual role he has essayed, that of twin brothers, alike in feature, but very dissimilar in morals and habits. The story introduces Hun treachery and Japanese Secret Service, and has not a dull moment throughout. The double exposures are so cleverly produced as to create a perfect illusion. A Mary Bickford comedy is also showing. ALLAN WILKIE COMPANY, Next Monday evening the Allan Wilkie Company will commence a season at the Opera House with the great naval drama, “The Luck of the Navy” (by Clifford Mills), which will be presented for two nights only. The central figure in the play is the commander of a British submarine. While visiting l the mansion of a fashionable society hostess on the coast of England he is beset by a daring coterie of secret agents of the Kaiser, who plan to seize a secret British Admiralty code from the commander, and convey him a captive to Germany by aeroplane. It is stated that excitement runs high thi’oughout the drama until in the final act a thrilling climax is reached. The principal parts will be Interpreted by Allan Wilkie and Miss Frediswyde Hunter-Watts. Other pieces to be staged during the season are H. P. Maltby’s famous comedy, “The Rotters,” the same author’s great demobilisation comedy-drama, “A Temporary Gentleman ” and Stanley Houghton’s famous brilliant satirical play. “Kindle Wakes.” The box plan opens at Gate’s to-morrow morning.
